As a lifelong admirer of George Lucas' work, Steve Sansweet's massive collection of Star Wars memorabilia was the stuff of legend to me. Inside his vaults contains the goldmine of a man who was there from the very beginning of a fan culture which has endured for nearly forty years.
Since opening up the doors of his lauded museum to the public a few years ago, thousands of Star Wars fans have taken a journey through Sansweet's unparalleled archive of toys, collectibles, fan made artifacts and one of a kind items. With the (at the time) impending release of Disney's first film under their Star Wars banner, I felt now was as good a time as any to take the trip myself and partake in the treasures of Rancho Obi-Wan.
Photos from my time at Rancho Obi-Wan from Monday, November 23, 2015 are below, over 200 images in total. Special thanks to Rancho Obi-Wan General Manager Anne Neumann for coordinating the visit and owner Steve Sansweet for being such a gracious host and so generous with his time during the tour.
