Ever since getting a copy of Springtime Carnivore's debut album late last year I haven't been able to put it down and although I may have been a little late to the party boy am I ever glad I was able to catch that train.
Springtime Carnivore is the solo project of singer/songwriter and past member of bands The Hush Sound and Gold Motel Greta Morgan. I'm unfamiliar with her past work but if her solo debut is anything to go by, I think I may have to give those earlier bands a listen pronto. On Springtime Carnivore's debut long player, Morgan showcases a knack for crafting infectious tunes that are as evocative of a bygone era in music as they are refreshingly original pop confections.
Springtime Carnivore is set to play several dates in the southland opening for The Dodos, including a stop at San Diego's Casbah on Valentine's Day. For tickets, follow the link below.
