XYLO at The Constellation Room - 4.8.16

words + photos by Joe Cortez

XYLO, the indie pop duo comprised of siblings Chase and Paige Duddy, has been making waves since the band's earliest tracks found audiences online bolstered by strong word of mouth and airplay on Beats 1. I was immediately taken with the band's sophisticated songwriting and cool pop sounds when I caught them last year at The Echo (coverage over at Free Bike Valet) so much so that the lasting impression made on me meant I had to check them out again when they stopped by Santa Ana's Constellation Room last Friday.

Anchored by front woman Paige Duddy's charismatic performance, XYLO's show last week continued to prove to me that they are a band to watch. The band's sound and ambitions seem to just barely be contained within the Constellation Room's intimate setting. Running through tracks off the band's debut EP "America" (available now via iTunes and XYLO's website) XYLO also offered a glimpse of what's to come with some new tracks that displayed a progression of the promise heard on "America."
