dead prez at The Echoplex - 1.12.16

words + photos by Joe Cortez

Underground hip hop group dead prez stopped by The Echoplex this past Tuesday night to deliver a dose of socially conscious and even health-inspired rap to a rabid Echoplex crowd this past Tuesday night.

The show got off to a later than expected start following a set by opener Mic Crenshaw but the eager fans gathered didn't seem to mind. Running through tracks from 2012's "Information Age" to the group's most popular cut "Hip Hop," the duo of Stic.Man and M-1 delivered an electric performance that got the crowd up and kept them up all night.

Check out my photos from the night below. For more on dead prez, be sure to follow Stic.Man at @STICRBG and M-1 at @M1deadprez on Twitter, Special thanks to The Echoplex for arranging coverage of the night.
