Unknown Mortal Orchestra at The Roxy - 8.6.15

words + photos by Joe Cortez

Unknown Mortal Orchestra stopped by LA's Roxy Theater on Thursday night to deliver a passionate set of tunes featuring tracks from the band's latest album, "Multi-Love" (available now via Jagjaguwar Records). The band had previously ventured into territories more psychedelic in nature but have took a turn in a decidedly more soulful direction with their more recent work.

Charismatic frontman Ruban Nielson captivated the sold out room for the duration of their set, even heading out into the crowd at one point as fans carefully held the mic cable overheard giving him just enough slack to make his way around the Roxy floor.

Check out my photos from Thursday night, also featuring opener Vinyl Williams, below. For more on Unknown Mortal Orchestra, be sure to visit unknownmortalorchestra.com and follow @UMO on Twitter.
