X, The Blasters and Mike Watt and The Second Men at The Observatory - 7.10.15

L.A. punk rock legends X took over Santa Ana's The Observatory on Friday for the second of four consecutive nights celebrating the band's first four albums, featuring complete play throughs of each. While news of guitarist Billy Zoom's decision to go on hiatus from the band's current touring schedule due to having to undergo chemo therapy hit fans a day earlier, both the fans and band members themselves clearly didn't let the news cast a shadow over the evening.

With the seminal first album having been played on Thursday, the band moved on to material from "Wild Gift," which showed the band's growth as songwriters while still maintaining the defiant spirit and attitude that was captured on "Los Angeles."

Photos from last night, also featuring openers The Blasters and Mike Watt and The Secondmen, are below. Tickets for tonight's performance of "Under the Big Black Sun" and Sunday night featuring "More Fun in the New World" are still available on The Observatory's website. For more on X, be sure to head over to xtheband.com and follow @xtheband on Twitter.
