Avid Dancer at The Constellation Room - 6.17.15

words and photos by Joe Cortez

LA's Avid Dancer hit the Constellation Room stage in Santa Ana this past Wednesday night. I caught Avid Dancer earlier this year during the band's February residency at The Echo. In the time since, Avid Dancer has released its first album, 1st Bath (available now via Grand Jury Records) and logged some miles on the road.

I couldn't help but admire Avid Dancer front man Jacob Summers' laid back, quiet command of the OC's humble little stage last night as the four piece played some familiar tracks and a few new cuts the band was still working out. So assured was Avid Dancer that two points during the night, Summers' invited two ladies from the audience to get up on stage and share vocals during "Stop Playing with My Heart" and "I Want to See You Dance."

Photos from last night's show, also featuring openers Kera & the Lesbians and Northern American are below. For more on Avid Dancer, including upcoming dates, be sure to head over to aviddancerband.com and follow @MrAvidDancer2U on Twitter.
