Nashville-native artist TORRES (aka Mackenzie Scott) stopped by LA's Echo this past Tuesday night as she hits the road in support of her sophomore release, Sprinter (available now via Partisan Records). I've been taken with Sprinter and its raw power and emotion since giving it a listen last week and was so impressed by Scott and the band she assembled for this tour which perfectly captured the unflinching energy that was so epically realized in the studio.
Dressed in black head-to-toe, the tall and slender Scott strikes an imposing figure on stage, made all the more intimidating by her incredibly earnest songwriting and passionate performance. Underneath it all, glimpses of the humble and perhaps even shy woman at the center of TORRES' persona were seen, with Scott at one point telling the packed house towards the end that this night "means the world to me."
Photos from Tuesday night's show, including shots of openers Pageants and Aero Flynn, are below. For more on TORRES including upcoming tour dates be sure to visit torrestorrestorres.com and follow @torreslovesyou on Twitter.
