Avid Dancer at The Echo - 2.2.15

Mondays at The Echo have been the spot for the past couple months with stellar residencies by Girlpool and Holychild. Now LA's own Jacob Summers and his band, collectively going by Avid Dancer, take over Echo Park's home for the latest in live and local sounds for the month of February.

Avid Dancer's residency comes in advance of the band's much anticipated debut, "1st Bath," expected April 14th. It was obvious early on that most of the audience in the house was already quite familiar with Summers' work. I was excited to hear the disco infused "I Want To See You Dance" and sixties-inspired "Stop Playing With My Heart" (both of which will be featured on the upcoming album) but everything else during Monday's set was new to me and welcomed.

Avid Dancer's free residency continues every Monday throughout the month of February at The Echo. For more info, be sure to like Avid Dancer on Facebook and follow @mraviddancer2u on Twitter and check out photos from Monday's show below!
