Miami Horror at The El Rey - 12.2.15

words + photos by Joe Cortez

Australia's Miami Horror called LA's El Rey Theater home on Wednesday night for the band's last US show of 2015 before heading back to Oz for dates through the rest of the year. It's been awhile since the indie party rock group tore up the Sunset Strip's Roxy back in June and the El Rey's receptive audience was more than ready for a second round.

The band's trademark frenzied energy was in full force with vocalists Aaron Shanahan and Josh Moriarty spilling out into the crowd on more than one occasion. The room seemed barely able to contain the antics of the five piece, finally erupting in a euphoric rave lead on by Shanahan, who had managed to sneak into the crowd during the final song of the night.

Check out my photos from Wednesday night, also featuring openers Queen Magic and Slow Hands, below. For more on Miami Horror be sure to follow @Miami_Horror on Twitter and like Miami Horror on Facebook.
